knitting workshop

Blueberry Hill, by Heritage Yarns

Save the date! Saturday, August 8 will mark the guild's first-ever knitting workshop! Hosted at the home of Vicki Katz, a full day of activities are planned, starting at 9am and concluding at 4pm.

PLANNED ACTIVITIES:

  • Light breakfast of donuts, fruit, coffee, juice, etc.

  • MARGARET PITTMAN of HERITAGE YARNS will present her yarns and a program on hand dyeing.

  • Potluck salad luncheon and game of Knitters' BINGO created by Amy Crumpton for this special event. Prizes will be awarded.

  • Betsy Mulligan will present a brief program on I-Cords. ***Note that it is recommended you prepare for the I-Cord program by bringing a ball of worsted weight scrap yarn, appropriate size double point needles, and a 20 stitch swatch. It is helpful if you slip the stitches on the swatch edges.***
  • Clay button making

  • Emily Marett will present a program on "Knitted on Sleeves."

*** schedule of events subject to change

Cost is $5 per person, no refunds. The $5 registration fee will cover the entire day's events, but you are welcome to come and go as needed. Fees collected will cover the cost of workshop (paper goods, drinks, etc.). Jane Dollar is accepting the $5 registration fee for the workshop. Please give her an idea of what you plan to bring to the potluck luncheon when you register. Susan - "the Bag Lady" has promised to bring bags for sale (please contact Vicki Katz at vickik2tog@att.net with requests for style and/or colors).

Don't forget to bring your knitting, a dish for the salad luncheon and your NAME TAG to the workshop!
