This month is the second installment of our "fall into colorwork" series!
This month you'll get an introduction to fair isle while making this cute monogrammed washcloth. (another great potential Christmas gift ....) If you'd like to jump straight into the colorwork while at the meeting, you'll need to complete the seed stitch border before coming to the meeting.
For those of you who'd like to get a jump start on this project, here are your instructions:
Cast on 37 stitches in your background color.
Row 1: Slip first stitch, (P1, K1) across, ending with K1
Row 2: Slip first stitch, (K1, P1) across, ending with P1
(repeat rows 1 and 2 until you have knitted 8 rows total)
Row 9: Slip first stitch, (P1, K1) three times, K24, (P1, K1) three times.
Row 10: Slip first stitch, (P1, K1) three times, P23, K1 (P1, K1) three times.
You can stop here, or check the pattern to see how many times to repeat Rows 9 & 10 before the colorwork begins. Select the letter you'd like to knit, and then count the number of "blank" rows before the letter in the chart. That's the number of rows 9 & 10 you'll need to complete.
