Have you ever wanted to make the foray into crochet, but didn't know
where to start? Or did you learn the basic crochet stitches years ago
and need a refresher? LeeAnn will bring us a taste of Christmas in July
and teach us some basic crochet stitches while we make this adorable crocheted stocking ornament
(it's easier than it looks!). These are great ornaments and decorations
for your holiday gifts--what a great way to get a jump start on your
holiday gift making!
Skills covered:
- handling a crochet hook
- chain, slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet, crocheting in the round
- reading a crochet pattern
Supplies to bring:
- small amounts of Christmas-colored worsted weight yarn (any size will work, bulkier yarns will create larger stockings)
- crochet hook appropriate for yarn (size F- J for worsted weight)
- locking stitch markers or scraps of contrasting yarn
- yarn needle (for seaming)
The Golden Triangle Knitting Guild will hold its July meeting on Thursday, July 26 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. in Room #204 of the First United Methodist Church in Starkville (200 Lampkin Street). As always, newcomers are welcome! Don't forget, if you won a door prize at the June guild meeting, be sure to bring a door prize this month (remember, it should be only worth $6 or less).
